Strategy: Confronting Radon in the Workplace

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s ionizing radiation regulation addresses risk  to workers in a “restricted area” where access is controlled by the employer for purpose of protecting individuals from exposure to radiation or radioactive materials onsite.  The OSHA exposure limit and testing and notification protocols for workplaces engaged with ionizing radiation are inappropriate for schools and other workplaces.  The EPA Action Level applies to all indoor areas. Our panel will discuss what public policy position and other actions that AARST and AARST chapters might take to improve workplace protection from radon, starting with public schools.
