Policy Advocacy Course: Course Description: AARST is hosting a one-day training for radon professionals and advocates who have the leadership, ability and inclination to advance radon risk reduction policies in their states. During this training, participants will learn through lecture presentations and interactive sessions about advocacy practices as well as key state-level risk reduction policies, with special emphasis on how good ideas become laws, working with legislators and legislative staff, and engaging with allies, opponents and other stakeholders. The intent of this course is to train advocacy leaders to create radon policy change on the state level (or county/local level as appropriate) and equip them with strong skills and insights.
Due to the importance and urgency of investing in a cadre of trained policy advocates, AARST is making the course available for free. Participants who complete the course will qualify for 8 hours of NRPP Continuing Education (CE) credit.
