Practice Leader
Todd McAlary, Ph.D., P.Eng., P.G., CUT

Dr. McAlary is a consulting engineer, specializing primarily in sites contaminated with chlorinated solvents for 30+ years.  He has been the Practice Leader for Vapor Intrusion Services at Geosyntec Consultants for 20 years and a member of the U.S EPA Expert Panel on vapor intrusion for 18 years.  He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto.

Dr. McAlary has recently completed a 5-year research program for the U.S. DoD on optimizing mitigation systems for VOCs and Radon.  The research demonstrated and validated new lines of evidence and a user-friendly mathematical model for mitigation system design and performance monitoring.  For large buildings, the optimization protocol can usually result in savings of a factor of 4 to 10 compared to conventional methods.
